I am a historian specialising in the society and politics of Belgium and its colonial empire, with a primary focus on the era of the Second World War. My work tends to focus on themes around military service, identity, migration, and political mobilisation and draws heavily on transnational and global perspectives. I am currently a research associate at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

Growing up between the United Kingdom and Belgium, I hold a BA and MPhil from the University of Oxford. I was previously an associate researcher at the Centre for the Study of War and Contemporary Society in Belgium. I am an associate fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a member of the Occupation Studies Network and Second World War Research Group. I regularly present at academic conferences including at Oxford, Cambridge, London, Edinburgh, Antwerp and Rome.

My work has appeared in a number of peer-review journals, including the Journal of Belgian History and Historical Research. I have contributed book reviews to a range of journals including the Journal of African History, Canadian Journal of African Studies, Journal of African Military History, Journal of Military History, and Journal of Belgian History. I am based in London.
